They've booked swerve like shit so he kinda needs the win. If Danielson wins, he's basically just a transitional champ with retirement looming, and that only pushes swerve down the card moving forward.

Bryan Danielson has lost to Will Osprey, Eddie Kingston, Zack Sabre Jr, and Okada this year. Him losing to Swerve and retiring in front of like 70k fans feels like something Bryan Danielson would do. Its wrestling, retirements aren't forever.

I totally get not being into the idea of Shane being involved with AEW, he's a divisive personality and I don't have any special affinity for him. But suggesting this is staged because Tony Khan is desperate for any attention was not my expectation for you guys. Again, no need to force positivity about the story, but the overall negative extrapolation was surprising to me. Has some of the stunts to boost a rating occasionally been 'silly', sure, but It's not as if TK has made a bunch of tasteless carny-esque decisions that were bad for the company and stories. But then again, I guess that's somewhat subjective. Especially according to people like Jim Cornette🤷‍♂

I just don't see Shane McMahon coming in as "talent" let alone any position in which he calls Tony Kahn "Boss". He's a McMahon. I just don't see anything short of Shane having significant power in AEW. Tony won't sell...but it's hard to see anything outside of that. Anything else, would be seen as a major step down for Shane and whatever perception fans may have of him

I’m surprised the discussion hasn’t expanded beyond Shane’s role as an on-screen talent. From my perspective, Shane can facilitate business deals and sponsorships, similar to what Nick Khan has done for WWE. With about 25 years of business connections, AEW can now tap into these networks. It’s surprising that the discourse hasn’t focused on this as a strategic business move in addition to being an on-screen talent.

If Tony could get Vince McMahon on his show next week he would. He just said he'd be open to work with the WWE, which a few months ago he referred to as the Harvey Weinstein of wrestling.

If Tony is bringing him in to get some control over the frat house with somebody who's been in the trenches, I'm all for it. I don't want to see Shane in the ring outside being in a GM role, but I don't want to see him flying around at his age. I can see him butting heads with MJF on the Mic being fun.

This podcast will never reach that next level because they are extremely biased to one side of the political aisle. Does the Republican party have problematic politicians and celebs? Yes. Does the Democratic party? Absolutely. But they rarely if ever criticize the Left. I want to enjoy my time listening to them but it just leaves me with this feeling that somehow I'm the problem because my views don't perfectly align with theirs. We could have our differences and appreciate them, but not to the point where I am made to feel less than. Such a shame really. I'll just have to find another podcase to replace this one.
